Bandaids & Gauzes Party at Anú
Wanna be a rock star, or maybe the next Tila Tequila? Don’t forget to come to Anú tonight for a chance at being discovered by Tyra Banks herself… NOT. Just come. It is my birthday and it would be nice if you’d buy me a drink.
Miss-IN-SCENE #7: The One Where We Joke About The Economy
The economic crisis has reached overseas… literally
The economic tension is global, but the people who work in the surplus industries are feeling it harder than others. One of these industries is the pirate industry. Please, help these pirates, join me in signing the petition “PRESIDENT OBAMA, PLEASE STOP THE LAYOFFS OVERSEAS.” The UNESCO deems them to be inhumane crimes against humanity. What do you think?

Gentle Hour: Another one for The Church Of Art
Was just working on some mixed media pieces for my room and thought of sharing. First one, Gentle Hour… children confronted with games, death, and broken paradigms. And yes, for those of you curious, those are brisca card decks transfixed in my bedroom wall. Very important representation of a Puerto Rican’s early years. Playing brisca at school, or at home with my grandfather. I always remember we had a card that was defective, because I “customized” it. Bad idea in retrospect.
The center piece photograph is taken by Corey Arnold in his Alaska essay. The photo contains children who hold in their arms a dead seagull, and they seem to try and help it. Could be interpreted as innocence’s initial taste of fear, the realization of danger, and how certain things -such as death- cannot be undone.
This next piece is All You’ll Ever Be. Or at least all I’ll ever be… act by act. Summarizing my life in a simple to-do-list might seem depressing… or it could also be a good way of mapping out the unknown in a box in my room for my own psychotic enjoyment. Another take on “bathroom” art. Why is it fun to place life’s acts out of context? Because context “borifies” life. So, lets decontextualize.
Breathe The Allure
Short intensities. Following other posts’ tradition of creating visual interpretations of a song. This piece was born while I was listening to Pink Floyd’s Dark Side Of The Moon. The tracks that get to me the most are Breathe, Us & Them, and Eclypse. This album’s thesis is quite nihilistic, yet extremely romantic. This is the life to live. You are what you do… so do it all.
Technical thoughts: Image is too powerful, so it didn’t need that many graphical elements to add. The colors are intense to exalt passion, although monochromatic. There’s only a glimpse of light, so what you can see really makes you wonder. Transporting us… and I guess myself… down that rabbit hole of subjectivity.

2009′s Hot 100 Online Retailers!
2008 was a very busy and rewarding year. Specially for us at Fluid, and our e-commerce sites. Two of the projects I worked closely as a designer got to be in Internet Retailer’s Best of the Year list. Wohooo!
I’m attaching links to the actual scanned articles, to prove to you I’m not lying
The first article links to what they had to say about TheNorthFace.com redesign, and the second one talks about Diapers.com. Thanks to everyone who I have had the pleasure in collaborating with to give birth to such magnificent projects. Specially to my awesome art directors and friends Cat Lee, and Mark Schaer who kick ass. These sites take months or even years to make, launch, and relaunch… and this is not counting the constant iterations we have to go through as a team. So, pat pat… may 2009 bring even more awesomeness
