Something that I let go of, since I moved to San Francisco, was walking around with cds and business cards that promoted me. One of the main reasons I dropped all of it, is because I just wanted to take a break, start everything new, absorb, and come back with a different perspective. Everyone that knows me can tell you that for a period of time, I got very annoyed.

Now though, I long for all the hectic madness that collaboration brings again, and there’s a different focus to the way I’m approaching things. Anyway, my new promotional materials (business card, cd cover, and stationary)… hope you enjoy.

P.S. If you think you saw a glimpse of Adrian Tomine’s notebook, not only are you right… but you are also quite hardcore.

UPDATE: A Reader just told me Adrian Tomine is not hard-core because he’s “too famous.” Well, I didn’t say Adrian is hard-core. I said you, person who-are-reading-this-and-who-identified-tomine, are the one that’s hard-core. ;)

Marc The Crab: Episode 4 (E! True Hollywood Story)

I’ve been quite thrilled in continuing with my Marc The Crab series. This time, he gets followed by the cameras through his 15 minutes of fame. This video has no blue screen, but has the challenge of unifying three VERY different songs and moods inside a two-minute block. The footage in this video comes from my trip to San Diego, Burning Man, Puerto Rico, and Yvannia’s pool. Special thanks to Zack and his cute pup for makin’ this story an epic reality :P

Rock on…

Alexetism website prototype

As you guys know, I have a shitty home page up… which doesn’t help me when people try to reach “home” beyond this blog or beyond my multiple forums attached to my domain. So, I’m creating a new website… completely “interactive.” You click into my fist to go in, then you click on my fingers and it takes you to different places where my artwork can be found. There’s an interesting feature though, the “my websites” link. It takes you to the back of my hand lol…

Let me know what you think.

Fall 07 – Identity Developement – First Animatics

So, I spent an entire week sick (the flu is really hitting everyone), and I have turned into a vessel for Vitamin C. Still, the work hasn’t stopped… and as you know, I’m taking two Directed Studies this semester, one will Bill George, the other with Sherry Sinclair. Both asked me for similar things after reading my pilot. Sherry asked for thumbnails; Bill asked for Audio… so, I put the two together into an animatics sketch.

This scene takes place after Sphincter saves Charona from dying in the electric chair (you guessed it, this all happened in Texas). Yes, she was getting executed because she’s the type of woman who eats her mates’ heads after she “does” them. But, as explained in the soon to be released opening song for the series… Charona didn’t mean to kill the motha fuckas’…

Btw… the dialog is getting changed… and No, I’m not playing the voice of Charona’s Mom (Angelina Jolie)… someone who can fake an accent will.

Enjoy,

Creating a Cover Letter

alex_coverletter

So, I’m taking this class online in which we study a bit more of the business aspect in art, and we are supposed to create a cover letter. Since I can’t do a regular cover letter, because they aren’t neurotic enough, I thought of chopping one in pieces and laying it out creatively. This is hypothetically addressed to the people at Fluid Animation… the ones who do Lucy, the Daughter of the Devil. I created it doing a good amount of research (borderline stalker)

Their website is Fluid Animation in San Francisco.
